The Sigma 150-600mm is a low-cost, high-quality outdoor daylight sports photography lens.
Sigma also makes the 150-600mm Sports lens. Although the optics are similar, the Sports lens is weather-sealed, and the lens is much heavier. Unless you want your students to cover the action in the rain, stick with the Contemporary.

The Sigma 150-600mm is a great lens for taking daytime photos at baseball games and soccer matches. The 600mm focal length will allow you to cover action almost anywhere on the field or pitch.
